About Fedora Press Publishing
Fedora Press Publishing is a small independent publisher based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. We publish literary fiction, with a heavy emphasis on crime mysteries, thrillers, and police procedural novels. We currently publish the works of Larry Darter.
Publisher Larry Darter found Fedora Press Publishing in 2015, and we published our first book in 2016, Come What May, the first novel in the Malone series.
Fedora is an iconic, low, soft felt hat with a curled brim and the crown creased lengthwise. The height of popularity for Fedoras began in the mid-1920s, which is why the hat style is often associated with Prohibition and gangsters. We chose Fedora as the name of our publishing company because it fits perfectly our crime fiction theme. In the 1940s and 1950s, noir films popularized the hats anew, and that popularity lasted until the late 1950s until informal clothing became more widespread.
